Jonathan’s practice is concentrated in the areas of patent litigation and the enforcement of patent licenses. He has litigated in the areas of electronic gift cards, telecommunications, communication systems, wireless networks, user interfaces, and drones. He is skilled in discovery with a particular emphasis on e-discovery, having worked on many cases involving very large numbers of documents in patent infringement, copyright infringement, pharmaceutical products liability, employment, and environmental contamination matters.
Jonathan has used many document review tools and developed databases to manage large document review projects. He has served as local counsel for various types of cases as well as having assisted with aspects of class actions. Jonathan has also helped prepare and brief appeals to the 11th Circuit, the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Prior to attending law school, Jonathan worked as an environmental chemist, both in the laboratory and as a consultant for 12 years. After completing law school, he spent a year with the Staff Attorneys’ Office of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. In his spare time, Jonathan has developed a working knowledge of the Zoning Code for the City of Atlanta, GA with an emphasis on historic preservation.
