Mark Ekonen

Mark focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on complex patent disputes and other technology-driven matters. He represents clients in cases involving sophisticated legal and technical issues, working closely with experts to develop clear litigation strategies and present highly technical subject matter in a practical and persuasive way.

He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as a Notes Editor on the Alabama Law Review. He later obtained an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where his graduate research examined reform of the United States corporate tax code. Mark received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from North Carolina State University, where he studied history and completed a senior thesis examining comparative religious history in East Asia.

An Alabama native, Mark has lived throughout the Southeast. Outside of his legal work, Mark enjoys spending time with his family (including his wife, three children, two geckos, and a dog), traveling, cooking and baking, and developing and publishing tabletop games.
